Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal is a laser treatment specifically designed to eliminate undesired hair from all parts of the body, safely and promptly eliminating unwanted hair follicles permanently, unlike all other classical methods of hair removal techniques. During permanent hair removal, germinative cells- responsible for hair appearance and growth- are destroyed. The only scientifically proven way for destroying these cells is by heating up the hair. This procedure is possible due to the presence of a substance called melanin that acts as an absorber of the pure red light generated by diode laser. Melanin is responsible of transforming that light into a heat that only kills the hair cells, without affecting the area around them. Only powerful equipment with clearly determined perimeters such as Milesman will achieve permanent hair removal, along with the cooling system that distinctively protects the skin.

The technical difference between diode laser hair removal and IPL (The pulsed light hair removal) lies in the degree of the light utilized. The two are completely different technologies and they produce different results.

Laser is a pure and a very selective light of same optimal wavelength of red color. Pure red light is totally absorbed by the hair follicles, turning them into heat. While IPL is a band of different wavelengths of colors, which is less effective in eliminating hair growth cells. IPL won’t completely destroy hair cells due to the fact that hair does not heat up enough because of the lack of red light, and light rays other than red will be unnecessarily absorbed by the skin.
